The Claymore is nice because it has lower stat requirements, and Faith builds don't want to put too much into unnecessary stats. Greatsword and Great Axe are really best suited for Strength builds in my opinion.Upgrade the claymore to +3 and then take it to the other blacksmith and you can take it down the Crushing path with greystone which removes DEX scaling and heavily boosts STR scaling.
